The Filigree Connection is based in Malta and was set up by 2 jewellery artists in 2022.
The Filigree Connection is a platform active in the field of promoting the filigree technique in the contemporary jewellery scene. Its aim is to create a network of filigree masters who wish to promote the survival and revival of this ancient technique through collaboration, education and international visibility in various spheres within the artistic and contemporary jewellery realms.
Through networking and collaboration, the organisation’s activities aim to further explore the recognition of contemporary jewellery as objects of art.

Boryana Chaneva – a jewellery designer & silversmith, with an eye for textile and silver filigree jewellery. Inspired by traditional crafts such as knitting, crochet and embroidery, she has long been intrigued by the art of slow textile creation, whilst attempting to integrate such intricate work into jewellery making and design with a contemporary twist. The love for filigree combines these passions, where it allows for the creation of a textured silver canvas mimicking lace textile.
Silvia Gálová – a jewellery designer & silversmith exploring traditional metal crafting techniques and their application to contemporary design, pushing their limits in never-ending process of exploration and curiosity, focused on connecting traditional crafts to contemporary design, contributing to preserving them, moving them forward to different and innovative perspectives.
